So, my Social Battery pin video went viral, which is amazing! But unfortunately, it also means there are a ton of fakes out there. I wanted to share a few ways to make sure you're getting an authentic Atelier Eumori original Social Battery pin:
Here are the four key things to look for:
1. The Slider: This is a big one. We hand-solder every single slider in-house. It's a painstaking process, but it's how we ensure the slider is secure and fluid. We've improved the slider on your feedback! We quality check each pin individually. The fakes? They use silicon to hold the slider in place, which means it's loose and likely to fall out. Not good!
2. The Finish: Our pins have a gorgeous, high-quality hard enamel finish. It's super shiny and durable. The counterfeits use a cheaper soft enamel that just doesn't compare. It looks… well, cheap. Some sellers are even using my photos and video screenshots to trick people, but trust me, the actual product you'll receive will be nowhere near the quality of the real deal.
3. Colors and Backings: The original Social Battery pin comes in five different colors, and you can choose between a pin or magnetic backing. The fakes? They're usually only available in black or white, and the font is often wonky because they've just traced over my artwork. Plus, they only have pin backings.
4. The Backstamp and Authenticity Card: This is the ultimate giveaway. Every authentic Social Battery pin has the Atelier Eumori logo stamped on the back, and it comes with an authenticity card that has a serial number and the date of purchase. If it doesn't have these, it's not genuine.
